I would like you to answer the following questions to get sorted. And if you would like, you may write what House and Year you would like to be in. Thank you!:
1. How did you get here? (If someone specific told you about the site, please say who it was. We would like a name, if possible)
2. Who is your favorite character in the books, and why is this so? What is your favorite thing about him/her?
3. Which would you say is your strongest quality, and why do you believe it is a good one?
4. Which would you say is your worst quality, and why do you dislike it?
5. How would you describe your relationships with friends, family, and enemies? Do you form bonds quickly, or tend to stay away from them? How do you deal with others?
6. Do you prefer group work, or working alone?
7. In life, what matters most to you? (you may choose more than one, but explain. You may eliminate anything that you don’t agree with in your answer. No more than 3 options may be chosen.)
For example: c. The present- live for the moment/have no regrets)
a. Friends and/or Family
b. The future- plan ahead/make and meet goals/overcome obstacles for later/think in terms of cause and effect
c. The present- live for the moment/do what you can now/have no regrets/make decisions quickly/don’t hesitate
d. Do what is right
e. Do what makes other people happy- you are generous/you are kind/you like to make friends/you are loyal
f. The past- you hold grudges/you try to get revenge/you believe in learning from mistakes/you act the way you do because of what has happened to you before/If something works out once, you will try it again until it fails
g. You want to make a name for yourself- you make sure people know all about you/you love attention/ you take revenge and make it known that you are not one to be messed with/ you are very ambitious and will do anything to make a name for yourself
h. You are content with a simple life- all you need is love/you’re not very materialistic/simple things make you happy
8. When making difficult decisions (you may choose more than one, or modify one of the options, but explain. No more than 3 options may be chosen.):
a. You take a lot of time to deliberate- you think in terms of pros and cons. You look at the good and the bad and make your decision based on that.
b. You act quickly- you go with your gut feeling
c. You think with your head
d. You think with your heart
e. You maintain a delicate balance of head/heart thinking
f. You try as hard as possible to avoid hurting others, or you just don't like to cause pain.
g. You think in terms of what works out to your advantage
h. You do what you want. (Do you do it no matter what the cost is?)
i. You go wherever the wind blows you- what happens happens. Why should you care? Fate is going to take its toll anyways.
9. Would you rather help a friend and sacrifice something you care for deeply, or let that friend work it out on their own and use your time to keep what it is you would lose otherwise? Why do you feel this way?
10. How do you feel life lessons are best learned, and taught?
11. What matters more, the answer or the work it takes to get the answer?
12. Does the end justify the means? In other words, are actions justified if they achieve the right effect? If the ending is happy, and you had to some things wrong to make it that way, are those wrongdoings excusable?
13. What traits do you love or hate about each house? Must have at least one (love and/or hate) for every house.
14. Would you rather be in... (please select one of the choices from each line.)
a. Slytherin/Gryffindor/Either/Neither
b. Ravenclaw/Hufflepuff/Either/Neither
c. Slytherin/Ravenclaw/Either/Neither
d. Gryffindor/Ravenclaw/Either/Neither
e. Slytherin/Hufflepuff/Either/Neither
f. Gryffindor/Hufflepuff/Either/Neither
(Your answer to the above question will determine what house you are in if I am debating between two of them. For example, if I believed you would do well in Gryffindor or Hufflepuff, and on the last choice, you chose 'Hufflepuff' I would place you there. If you chose neither, I would either re-evaluate your sorting or give you my reasons for placing you in one of those anyways.)
If you are confused about the above question, here is an example of how I would have to answer:
a. Gryffindor
b. Ravenclaw
c. Ravenclaw
d. Gryffindor
e. Neither
f. Gryffindor
